Betty A. Lovell, APR

As the president and founder of Lovell Public Relations (LPR), Betty Lovell leads her firm with nearly 20 years of communications experience.  Lovell is known by clients and throughout the industry for her integrity and professionalism, and instills the same exemplary qualities in her team. She is a member of the distinguished Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Counselors Academy, a national consortium of senior public relations executives committed to the ethical practice of public relations.


Lovell brings extensive experience in media relations, strategic planning, community relations, crisis management and media training. An esteemed business professional, she provides senior counsel and strategy to national clients ranging from Disney’s Buena Vista Pictures Marketing; The Macerich Company, one of the nation’s largest shopping center developers; Buckner Orphan Care International; and the grassroots HER Foundation. Her widespread expertise in non-profit communications has led to creative local and national cause-related marketing campaigns including Celebrity Shoes for Orphan Souls, a traveling exhibit and charity auction.


Lovell has carved out a niche for her firm as an innovative agency that creates and implements award-winning media campaigns, community relations programs and cause-related marketing initiatives. The firm has won dozens of industry awards for its client's programs including a coveted Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Silver Anvil, PRWeek Honorable Mention awards, Retail Advertising and Marketing Association's (RAC) Peter Glen Service Award, and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) MAXI and MAXI Merit awards.


Lovell's strong media relationships have enabled the firm to secure key placements in high profile news organizations including the Associated Press, Reuters, World News Tonight, CNN, and CNNfn. She has also garnered premium coverage in print media including The Dallas Morning News, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, InStyle magazine, Time magazine, and Investor's Business Daily. Her experience in research analysis and survey research positioning has translated into strong media placements for the firm's clients.


Prior to founding the firm, Lovell was a partner and executive vice president of Brinker Communications where she was responsible for new business development, managing day-to-day operations and strategic planning for the agency's accounts. Before joining Brinker, Lovell spearheaded the public relations efforts for  a not-for-profit alliance of major medical organizations and corporate firms representing Dallas' hospitals and medical community nationally. Lovell is accredited through PRSA and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Southern Methodist University. She is a member of the PRSA, Texas Public Relations Association (TPRA), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the National Press Club.
